Project: All-Source is a mod made for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch that plans to combine many Source Engine games together into one game or experience.
The mod's roots go way back to a couple months after I started my YouTube channel, when I messed around with my Source games when I was bored. Eventually, I tried to port over the first test chamber from Portal 1 into HL2:DM. Sound familiar? I ported over to about the state it's in now, with a few bugs sprinkled in. I was really proud of this version, but I accidently deleted it while clearing space off my hard drive. But the actual main idea started while I was talking to a friend on Discord about my really nerdy yet shit knowledge on the Source Engine, when I brought that up. And that's when I decided to start making Project: All-Source. The name was actually decided on pretty quickly (like in an hour pretty quickly), as I didn't just want it to be called "That one HL2:DM mod I made that combined a bunch of Source games together and absolutely sucks".
Development started with me just throwing random extracted assets from Source games into the HL2:DM custom folder (not even joking), as it was originally going to be just a personal mod to share with friends. I call this version v0.1. 2 or 3 people joined servers hosting this version before it was deleted and rewritten, meaning some people have a VERY early copy of Project: All-Source just sitting around on their hard drive to hog up space for god knows how long. The trailer video for Project: All-Source was made with this version due to it being the most stable version at the time.
But, I realized that since I was putting "so much effort" (sure buddy) into this thing, I might as well just release it to the public, right? So, I went to work completely reprograming the mod from the ground up, and about a month and a half later since the .VPKs decided to corrupt twice (and because of stupid IRL stuff), the first demo build, demo v0.2, was finally done! I was extremely proud of this version..... Until I realized the instructions had duplicate text and poor directions, and the game had like 4 major bugs. Half of which I couldn't fix. I am so good at making stuff! So, I went and fixed most of the bugs, then discovered like 3 more and fixed those. Since I just got rid of half my will to live because of that, why don't you go check Project: All-Source out? READ INFORMATION.txt, or else you will DIE!!!!!
